David R. Ambrose
General Counsel
David R. Ambrose is the founder of Ambrose Law Group (in 1991) and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. David spent a number of years with Preston Gates & Ellis (nka K&L Gates) in its Portland office, and was formerly a partner in the Portland law firm of Brownstein Rask.
David represents a number of business organizations in a variety of fields, including real estate finance and investments, and also represents a number of high net worth individuals. David’s practice emphasizes the representation of mortgage bankers and brokers, including both private and institutional lenders and investors. This representation includes all aspects of commercial and residential real estate secured lending, including transaction documentation, enforcement of security interests, including loan workouts and foreclosures, responding to repurchase demands directed to originating lenders, determining and maintaining the organizational structure and managing employment-related issues. David has also provided guidance to his clients in the creation and maintenance of private placement offerings intended to raise monies to fund client lending and investment operations.
David is the General Counsel of Total Real Estate Group and also represents other real estate sales brokerage companies in all aspects of their operations, including licensing compliance, defense of claims of third parties, and related matters.
David graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and obtained his law degree from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College in 1979. David was admitted to practice law in the State of Oregon in 1979 and in the State of Washington in 1983. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, District of Oregon; U.S. District Court, Western District of Washington; U.S. Court of Appeals, 9th Circuit, and the United States Tax Court.
